Executives and Managers transferred from abroad

This is one of my favorite visas. It results in a green card without the hassle, delay and expense of a labor certification. Even better, the requirements are quite clear.

It is essentially the immigrant version of the nonimmigrant L-1 visa. To qualify as a Multinational Executive or Manager, you should be an upper-level executive or manager of a foreign company. Your company should transfer you to the U.S. -- but not before you have worked at the non-U.S. branch for at least one year. Your job in the U.S. must also be in managerial or executive status.

The sponsoring company will be your U.S. employer. It must have been doing business for at least one year. It must be is an affiliate, a subsidiary, or branch of your employer abroad.

Sound simple? It is.

The complication comes in documenting all this. There is a good deal of work involved in making this petition. It will fail if you cut corners. However, handled correctly, it is one of the smoothest ways of getting permanent residence through employment.
